Scooter Henderson doesn’t know where he will be selected in next month’s NBA draft, but he does know one thing: He wants to separate his NBA career from Steph Curry’s and attempt to build an equally successful brand.
“I look at how they have a family business and all that, the SC30 thing, how everything is close and that’s what I want to build,” said Henderson, a projected top-3 pick in the June 22 draft. NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.

Curry and Henderson, a four-time NBA champion from the Golden State Warriors who signed a professional contract with the NBA G League Ignite at the age of 17, recently announced a consulting and strategic alliance.
The Hendersons — who share a vision for entrepreneurship — have aligned themselves with Curry, who has a proven track record in building and managing his own businesses. His off-the-court presence spans SC30 brand partnerships, media, investments and philanthropy. As part of his philanthropic efforts, he has been providing scholarships for female athletes at his alma mater Davidson.
“I’m just watching how he’s doing it and he’s giving me little tips here and there,” Henderson said of Curry’s SC30 empire.

Henderson is working with Curry’s trainers.
“There’s a lot more involved[training]with my coaches Brandon Payne and Carl Bergstrom than just reps and shooting,” Henderson said. “That’s a lot of rep but it’s more detailed than usual.”
Henderson said that one of the main things he worked on with Payne was breathing while he played.
“It is very easy to hold your breath at the top of the key, dribbling and just getting it out. Just make sure I keep breathing and hold it and keep breathing, that’s the main thing we’re working on right now,” he said.

As for Curry, he’s drawn to Henderson’s commitment to his community in Marietta, Georgia.
