Newly promoted duo Sheffield United and Burnley are shaping up to be Scotland international Jack Hendry, who recently attracted attention by getting the better of Erling Haaland, TeamTalk understands.
Few of the powerhouses of world football can claim to have kept Holland quiet in recent times. However, during the recent Euro 2024 qualifier between Norway and Scotland, Jack Hendrie did exactly that.
The 28-year-old played in the center of Scotland’s back three and stood up to the challenge of facing Holland.
The Man City player found the net, though only from the penalty spot, and his strike was not enough to prevent Scotland securing an impressive 2–1 victory away from home.
TeamTalk has learned that Hendry – who hasn’t enjoyed the best of times at club level recently – could face a move to the Premier League soon.
Hendry currently plies his trade for Belgian side Club Brugge, although last stint he was loaned out to Cremonese in Italy.
The deal included an option to buy, however this was canceled halfway through due to Hendry returning to Bruges in January.
Club Brugge are now managed by former Celtic boss Ronnie Deila who is keen to take a look at Hendry. However, we understand that offers from the Premier League could be lodged soon.
Furthermore, while there is interest from Spain, France and Italy, Hendry is believed to be keen to try his luck in the Premier League.
Newly promoted pair Sheffield United – who previously tried to sign him – and Burnley are both keen on a solid move.
Elsewhere, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Nottingham Forest have also been linked.
