Ruark's Awesome New DAB Radio Speaker Sounds Like Wireless Hi-res Audio Heaven

British audio company Ruark has launched the R410, a new high-end speaker built to make the most of high-resolution audio from some of the best music streaming services like Tidal, Deezer, BBC Sounds and Spotify Connect.

Ruark says this is the first product in its new 100 Series range, which boasts a stunning looking design and, as you’d expect, great audio support. The Ruark R410 boasts of high resolution music file support up to 24-bit 192kHz like Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast, all of which are built-in here.

But you don’t need to use a streaming service. There’s also DAB/DAB+/FM and internet radio, aptX HD Bluetooth connectivity and HDMI with eARC. You can still connect your older equipment, such as one of the best turntables or CD drives.

The Ruark R410 Looks As Good As It Looks

Just like previous Ruark devices we’ve liked and tested (looking at you, Ruark R5), the Ruark R410 looks, frankly, gorgeous. Ruark says it draws inspiration from the ’70s with word finishes and retro-inspired styling. This is going to seriously elevate any space you put it in.

Ruark says it has a powerful new processor built-in, supporting the highest quality audio files and streams. It also powers a user interface, which takes commands from the R410’s Rotodial controller as well as smartphone apps, and displays everything on a high-resolution color display.

There are also new bass-mid units, custom 20mm tweeters (similar to the MR1 speaker) and improved digital amplifiers. Like all Ruark products, the R410 doesn’t come cheap at $1699 / £1,299 / AU$2599. But still, for the sound quality you’re getting and serious style points, it’s hardly a surprise.
