DeSantis vows to oppose anti-Bitcoin legislation

Specifically, the 44-year-old governor said he would fight anti-Bitcoin legislation in Congress and emphasized his stance against CBDCs. His comments come weeks after his arrival banned The CBDC in Florida said that the digital dollar threatened the financial freedom and privacy of business owners and citizens.
The US Federal Reserve, like over 100 global economies, is exploring the pros and cons of launching a CBDC to compete with China’s digital yuan. However, similar to DeSantis, several US representatives have opposed the idea of a digital dollar, labeling it as a means of expanded financial surveillance.
