Summer strike action at Edinburgh Airport has been deferred after staff accepted a wage settlement.
The Unite union said 96% of workers supported the deal, which would provide a 12% increase in basic pay and shift pay, along with a one-off cash payment of £1,000.
The union warned commuters could face summer travel chaos after members backed strike action in a pay dispute last month.
Employees involved in airport security, terminal operations, search areas and processing people for flights deal directly with passengers, while also screening all deliveries scheduled to receive pay raises and dealing with airside support services .
Unite Industrial Officer Carrie Binney said: “Unite has always wanted to resolve this dispute at Edinburgh Airport through negotiations but to secure better pay increases our members were prepared to take strike action.
“A 12% increase with a £1,000 cash payment is a truly outstanding result, which will benefit hundreds of workers at the airport.”
Unite announced on Monday that the nearly 100 members working at Glasgow Airport Ltd have achieved an increase of up to 11%.

“This is another great deal for our members, this time at Edinburgh Airport.
“The message is clear to all airport workers, join Unite if you want better jobs, pay and conditions.”

“This is a substantial pay increase and we want to get the payment out to our team as soon as possible.
“They make an essential contribution to the airport and we know this has been a worrying time for them, so we are pleased to have reached a conclusion that benefits them as well as our passengers who Looking forward to our hard earned holidays.”
